Spring Resolution

I have decided to make a Spring Resolution, which is a fancy way of saying that I really need to make a change. I've written about my Aunt Melissa before. I alluded to the fact that I have grown apart from her in the past few years. Which is really a shame.

Aunt Melissa was such a huge part of my life growing up. I was a huge part of hers. But things change, people get married and have kids and all of a sudden the things that were so important to them before get put on the back burner. I am not blaming it on her, nor am I blaming myself.
All I am saying is that I really want to make an effort to connect more with my sweet Aunt Melissa more from now on. As I mentioned before, she has a new baby on the way, and I am afraid she may be feeling disconnected from the world also, as she is a stay-at-home-mom and lives across the country from the rest of her family.

She sent me an Easter card, which arrived Saturday. I called her on a whim Easter night, to thank her for the card and to congratulate her. She had company over, so we did not really get to talk much. Maybe I'd made a mistake by calling her? Then she called me the next day, just to tell me how much she had appreciated my calling her the day before and she wanted to talk more. Maybe she has not changed as much as I had thought! We had a wonderful conversation about life in general. It was like talking to an old friend you haven't talked to in years, but just pick right back up where you left off.

We used to send letters to each other every once in a while. We used to talk all the time. We used to send emails much more than we do now.

I want to change all those
used to's into do's.
