Wayne's Visit July 2014

Wayne came back home to on July 10th, and stayed until the 27th. It was a nice long visit, but of course not long enough. I miss him lots every second that he's away.

We stayed in Dahlonega the first few days. We love Dahlonega and the other little towns around it like Helen, Dawsonville, and Cleveland. We went to the petting zoo, went tubing in Helen, and of course walked around the Dahlonega square.

We also spent a few days at Stone Mountain Park. We were able to see the laser show, walk around on top of the mountain, look in the old plantation homes, ride the train around the mountain, ride the Ducks, and all the other fun things you can do there.

Claire and her family were really sweet and let us stay with them a couple nights. Claire took us around her town, where we did some shopping, swung on swings at a playground, and even went to a monastery. Wayne was nice and bought me a pendent that has Saint Elizabeth Seton on it. She is the saint of teachers, so I hope it will bring me luck as an educator.

We spent a few days in the Buford area. We did a couple day trips like visiting a train museum, going to the cat house, seeing Morgan and her family, going to Midieval Times, and visiting a Hindu temple.

Wayne met my Aunt Melissa and Uncle Joseph and my cousins who all live in Texas. This was the first time they had met, and we swam in my Grandparents' pool, and had a great time.

I've been wanting to take Wayne to Savannah for a while, and we finally made it there this time! We walked all around the historic district several times. Wayne and I both really wanted to go on a ghost tour, so we did that one night even though it was pouring down rain. Tybee Island is pretty close by, so we went there for half a day. It was the first time we'd been to a beach together, and we had lots of fun swimming in the ocean together, and splashing in the waves. It was a really fun trip, and I know we both want to go back to Savannah soon!

I had such an amazing time with Wayne, as I always do. I am so thankful that he works so hard at his job and saves up so that he can come see me, and so that we can do lots of fun things together. It worked out perfectly because he came right after I finished up teaching summer school, and right before the regular school year started, so I was able to spend every second with him. I miss him so much already, and can't wait until the next time we are together.
