Honor Them Thursday

Today, I want to honor my Granpap.

My Grandpap used to run the Peachtree every single year, until his knees got too bad to run. I've been training for this same race, and let me tell you, it's not easy peasy. Even now, he is one of the most active 70+ year-old man I know. My grandma and my grandpap walk almost every night together, and I think that's amazing.

He is also a very loving and caring person. He'd never admit that he loves animals, but you can often find him in the basement, studying the Bible with a cat on his lap.

I really feel so lucky to have my Grandpap in my life and love him very much.

Honor Them Thursday: Aunt Melissa

*Wayne came up with Honor Them Thursday as a way to honor the people and things that have made a difference in our lives. This is it's debut week, so stop on by Wayne's Window to the World to check out the other people who are taking part and even write your own and sign up on Mr. Linky!*

Today, I'm honoring
my Aunt Melissa.

She's not only my aunt, she's also my Godmother. I always felt super special to her because of that.

When she first moved away from Georgia, we used to send each other
letters in the mail. Even now, we still send the occasional letter through the mail to each other. I love getting her letters.

I've always admired my aunt's
vivacious personality. She can make anything fun. She's the reason I ran my first race. That was one of the things I'm most proud of. She made that first race less scary and so much fun!

Even though we're not as close as we used to be [in location and relationship], she'll always be one of the
most influential people in my life.

I'll always love her
so, so much, and miss the days when we'd drink boba locas together and get out toes done.

{She also taught me to pose for pictures!}
