Tribute Tuesday: Mrs. W

This blog idea was started by my adorable Wayne. He hosts Tribute Tuesday over at his blog. Please go check out all the other lovely tributes and consider writing your own!

Today, I'd like to tribute a wonderful family friend of mine, Mrs. W.

I've know her forever.

She is so kind and helpful.

She's a very skilled seamstress and always hems anything I need for free (which comes in handy since I'm so short!).

She's one of the most generous women I know, and is always willing to help.

She is also a wonderful cook!

Since I've started knitting, she's been so kind to help me out whenever I need a little guidance with a pattern or technique. She's basically an expert knitter! [By the way, I'll post pictures of things I've knitted later on.]

Mrs. W is a blessing to our church.

She is also a devoted wife, and mother to three children (who are all grown up now).

I am truly blessed to know Mrs. W, and am so happy to share her with you all today!!

Tribute Tuesday: Emily

Wayne [my sweet manfriend] is the host of Tribute Tuesday. Head over to his blog to see more lovely tributes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You fixed my hair when I was young.
You showed me how to properly spray myself with perfume.
You asked me to help you dress up the Barbies in Grandma's basement even though we were both too old to be doing such.
You taught me which music was "cool."
You made sure I was prepared to make friends at band camp when I was scared out of my mind.
You [tried] to teach me how to dance with boys.
We had a rough patch the year before you moved in with Andrew.
Once you moved in with him, you slowly got back to your old, happy self.
I was the first one you called after Andrew proposed.
That fact made me feel so special, and still does.
You asked me to be your Maid of Honor.
I'm so very happy for you and Andrew.
You've always been my older sister, but now you're my friend, too.
I love you, Emily.
Tribute Tuesday.
Every Tuesday, Wayne hosts Tribute Tuesday. To see more tributes, visit his blog.
The first time I participated in Tribute Tuesday, I did a silly little tribute to Wayne. Now that I've done a couple more tributes, I think it's about time I do my sweet Wayne justice with another one.
Wayne,
I could look into your eyes 'til the end of time, and into Eternity. I know that's cliche, but with you, it's true. Just looking at you is intoxicating. I try desperately to memorize your face each time I'm with you. I want to remember every curve, every scar, every inch of your face.
That moment when I saw you in the airport for the first time, it was just like something out of a movie. It was as if everyone else in the busiest airport in the world just disappeared, and suddenly it was just you and me. And then, oh then! Then you gave me my very first kiss. I wondered if you could feel me shaking from how nervous and excited I was at that moment. I'll never forget that.
There are so many "firsts" I've experienced with you [don't worry, everyone, our relationship is rated PG]. As I've just mentioned, you were the first man I kissed, the first I ever even held hands with. You were the first man I've actually enjoyed seeing a movie with. You were the first man I've ever been to church with. You were the first man I ever [almost] went to a concert with. You were the first man I ever snuck out the back of the concert hall with to go run to our car in the rain. You were the first man I kissed in the rain. You were the first man to ever sing to me as we danced in the rain. You're the first, and only, man I've ever loved.
Your heart is the biggest of any man I know. Your love is the purest and sincerest I've ever felt. You mean the world to me, Wayne.
I love you more than you could ever know, and I will for all time.
Tribute Tuesday.
Tribute Tuesday was started by my Wayne as a way to pay tribute to someone or something special in your life.
I've always been a Daddy's girl. My dad has always been the one I go to when I need help with something. From asking him for directions when I get lost, to killing a spider for me, he is always willing to help me when I need him. I used to tell my mom I was going to marry him, which sounds strange now, but I believe all little girls feel this way about their daddy when they're little.
My father is kind, gentle, intelligent, hard-working, honest, reliable, devoted, and so much more.
He is a wonderful husband to my mother, and has been completely devoted to her for nearly 30 years.
There is so much more that I would love to share about my daddy, but it's so hard to put into words how amazing he is.
I never take my father's love and devotion for me and the rest of my family for granted. I know I'm one lucky girl to have such an amazing father.
Please check out the other Tribute Tuesdays and feel free to participate here.
Tribute Tuesday: My Mom
I couldn't decide which of my parents to write a tribute for first, so I decided to pick my mom, since she did give birth to me and all.
My mom is one of the strongest people I know. She stands up for her rights. She stands up for her beliefs. She stands up for her faith. She isn't afraid of what people think of her.
My mom is very determined. If she wants to do something, she goes for it and gets it done. She's not afraid to ask for help in the process, which is one thing that helps her a lot to reach her goals.
My mom is friendly to everyone. She's always wanting to make new friends. She makes them easily. She's very outgoing, not shy at all. That's one thing I didn't get from her that I really wish I had.
My mom has taught me so much about who I am, and who I want to be.
I'm proud to introduce my mom to the world!
Tribute Tuesday is hosted by Wayne every Tuesday. Stop by his page to check out other wonderful tributes to some very special people.
Tribute Tuesday
My adorable Wayne came up with this idea to pay tribute to one of your favorite people/things each week. So I figured I should start out with a tribute to Wayne, since he wrote a very sweet one for me.
The following is a conversation we had via text last week. I think it pretty much sums up our relationship.
Wayne: I'll be right back, I have to poop.
Me: Okay...
...2 minutes pass...
Wayne: I'm back.
Me: That was really fast!! [It usually takes him like half an hour.]
Wayne: I pushed really hard.
Honestly, that is one of the things I adore about our relationship. We can be silly or goofy or just plain gross, and we're just so comfortable with each other. This is the kind of relationship I've always wanted, and I feel indescribably blessed to have found a man who I can just completely be myself around.
So this is for you, Wayne, the best man I know.
[See, I didn't even put the thing in about the incident with the ruler!]
