Updates are great.

I've been busy, busy, busy lately! Here's a quick update of what I've been up to this past week:

  • The kittens are both with their new family and are doing very well as far as I know.
  • Monday, I met up with Morgan for the first time since the fall. We had lunch on the square, did some window shopping, and baked.
  • Tuesday, I baked some a lot more at Morgan's house. A few other girls came over as well. That night, my parents and I, along with a some close friends, had dinner at Emily and Andrew's house.
  • Christmas Eve (Wednesday), I went to the Candlelight service at church at 5. Then I went to Morgan's family's Christmas Eve party. Finally, my family (including Emily and Andrew) went over to the W's house to exchange gifts and just spend time together (they're family, after all).
  • Christmas Day (Thursday), I woke up around 10 and ate breakfast. It was just my parents and I, so we just opened our stockings in the morning, and waited until E&A came over to open gifts around 2. It was a very relaxing day, but very different from any Christmas I've had before.
  • Yesterday, E&A came over again around 6, followed shortly by some of my dad's side of the family. We didn't exchange gifts this year (I can't remember the last time we did with that part of the family), but it was actually pretty nice. We ate dinner and talked a lot.
  • Today, I got my hair done with my mom for a good part of the day. Then I wrapped a ton of gifts.
  • Tomorrow, we are going to go to my mom's parents' house to exchange gifts with that part of the family. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone open their gifts. I'm planning on taking a lot of pictures tomorrow, since I got a new memory card (and also since I've clearly been slacking with my photo-taking lately).

I'm hoping to get lots of pictures on here next week of all that I've been up to. I hope everyone has had a fantastic Christmas!

XOXO

Another quick update.

I just wanted to let you all know that Precious came home today and is staying with her owner. She is doing much better and may come back to our house on Monday so that she can be with her brother. Lester is also doing quite well. He is cuddling with me as I type this.

P.S. Precious is staying in Ms. K's room so that the boys won't see her, and Ms. K told her boys that there was a big bug in her room that liked to bite little boys. I thought that was pretty funny.

Update on the Kittens.

I wasn't going to post about the kittens until tomorrow because, well, this makes my third post of the day, but something has come up.

I mentioned before that we may be kitten-sitting for about a week. A teacher at my mom's school adopted a couple of kittens for her two little boys, but she wanted them to be a surprise for Christmas, so my mom offered to take care of them until then. They were adopted from the Humane Society just yesterday.

The female cat, which I've nicknamed Precious, wasn't feeling very well today. She pretty much laid on my lap all day and was breathing faster than I thought she should. So when my mom got home, we decided we should call up Precious' owner, Ms. K, and take her to the vet. After a few tests were run on Precious, she has been found to have pneumonia. Right now she is at the emergency vet on oxygen. They said she has a 50% chance of survival, which isn't too bad, but isn't that great either.

I know this may seem silly to write a post about a sick cat, but this kitten is just so sweet and I know that she will be a wonderful companion for one of those little boys while their family goes through some hard times financially and emotionally. I just really hope that she gets the chance to become a comfort for those two sweet boys.

Meanwhile, the male kitten, whom I call Lester, is doing very well, and is very playful and sweet. I'm hoping that Precious gets the chance to be a playful kitty like her brother.

Here are a few pictures of them cuddling this morning on the couch.
