It's official!

I'm all signed up for the Peachtree Road Race!!

It's exciting, and scary at the same time.

I'm confident, and motivated.

The more I walk, the more excited I get.

Soon, I'll be looking like this again...

...scared as can be, before the race...

...and happy as can be, afterwards.

Where I am now.

Every student who attends this University is required to take a class that is fondly referred to as Wellness.

Now this class is not one that a girl who knows she is overweight really looks forward to attending twice a week. However, something really struck me that my professor said during class.

She told us that there is a strategy that can be used to help us analyze our lives.

So I've started writing a journal, but from a 3rd person perspective.

I've named it "Juliet's Story," you may have noticed the button in the sidebar...

Anyway, it's really just a journal focusing on what kinds of things I eat throughout the day, and what activities I do. It's really just a journal for myself, but you are welcome to take a look every once in a while if you every get really bored and have nothing else to do. Just saying. The only reason I'm posting it online is to keep myself accountable. Still, any and all words of encouragement are always welcome.

Chocolate Muffins.

Since I could no longer use Christmas as an excuse for baking and indulging in fattening desserts, I thought I'd bake up some lower fat desserts. I asked Morgan if she'd like to bake some, and she was kind enough to oblige. She even found this scrumptious recipe for us!

There were many ingrediants needed.

So we mixed everything up...

...and placed them in the oven to bake.

They looked and smelled delicious.

They really did turn out well.

I will most definitely be making this recipe again, and you should too!

I'm Branching Off.

Anyone who has been following me for a while may remember this post I wrote back in late September of this year. If you haven't read it, please take a look so you can see some background on my story and understand my next move.

I've started another blog, "Jenn's Journey to the Peachtree." The purpose of this new blog is to give me a place write down my food journal, daily activity, and even share some low cal recipes from time to time.

Mostly, "Jenn's Journey" is just a tool to keep me motivated to continue in becoming healthier (especially during the next month), but I would really appreciate any and all support and encouragement that you all would like to give. Getting and staying motivated is really the hardest part to me, so if you have any suggestions feel free to share :)

Please check back soon to read about the steps I'll be taking to get myself motivated.
